Clorox will melt your hair and possibly burn your scalp. You can even cause damage to your internal organs. Even if you're bleaching just extensions, don't do it. Clorox is meant to bleach clothes, not hair!

I had black hair too and I wanted to go blonde..I went to hair salon and had to wait 4 hours to get the color out of my hair. acually my hair turned orange. and now its never soft and has so many breaks. so I would wait for it to grow out if it is dyed black. or if its your natural, I would definitly talk to someone before doing anything to it, because your hair is going to be ruined. oh on top of waiting 4 hours and smelling bleach for that long, i got really sick with a sore throat for the week.
NO!!!!! Clorox is meant for cleaning! It will do nothing good for you. Your hair WILL get damaged, and only turn orange. If you really want to bleach your hair go to a salon where you can get a pro who knows whats up. To lighten black hair there is a little more to it than just bleaching it. Don't use just anything around the house, the easiest way to go about this is to go to a pro, that way you don't waste your time, energy, or any money to fix any "mistakes"

Theyre really bad for your hair!!! They pull out your hair if they didnt do that to her than she got lucky. It also pulls on your scalp causing you to lose brain cells from the pain, migranes head aches and nausea. Please use clip on extensions I use those and theyre amazing. Don't weave in hair either or glue them in it just makes your hair fall out more.

This is something you can not due on your own unless you are a professional.
The best thing for you to do is find a salon that does them or maybe has a stylist that can do them. Try a salon that does mostly ethnic hair, ethnic people seem to do the best weaves.
Also, try a beauty school that trains in them, I know alot of schools don't get into weaving much, but I used to work at a beauty school where alot of the girls did know how to do them. Beauty schools are great because they charge alot less that a salon.

if taken out using an oil-based product or a moisturizing product you will not lose your hair. first spray on oil sheen or use a hot 6 oil. Work it through the tracks, then proceed to shampoo it with a moisturizing shampoo. The tracks will detach easily after being worked through with the combo of the oil and sudsy shampoo. PLEASE DO NOT YANK THE TRACK! THIS WILL CAUSE HAIR LOSS! another thing is if you decide to keep tracks in your hair on a frequent basis, make SURE the track is not laid on the same spot repeatedly. This will cause "track alopecia" and the hair will not grow back and if it does it will be peach fuzz hair. Now don't get me wrong, I am Not saying don't put tracks in, but like anything we do---do it in moderation. You can put them in, but take them out to let your scalp breathe and your hair to take a break also! Another alternative is having your hair sewn in. This reduces stress on the hair because all of it is braided up!

you need to use a protein based shampoo if your hairs chemically damaged, but if you have only coloured it twice. id say its because you just need to cut your split ends. i reccomend a centimeter trim every month or two. or else the split ends creep up, damaging the hair.
curls lack shine. so id recomend using something like REDKEN's fresh curls range. its excellent.
as for the hair extentions. they come with clips, get real hair. its always better. synthetic are just cheap lookalikes. and if you try curl them they will frizzle and melt!!!

Definetly go for the sew in extensions. I have them right now. They're great.. I only pay 90 dollars every other month to have them put in, so its not so bad. They look great and are easily done up. You could definetly get that look...Good luck!

I had heavy, glued in extensions put in a little over a year ago and the entire experience was a nightmare. I was left with about 1/2 the amount of hair I originally had before installation. As it has been a year, I cut my hair to my shoulders and it looks much thicker than before. i am fixing on getting cornrows on my platnium blonde hair with yaki braiding extensions to lengthen the braid on my shoulder lenghth hair... this has been done to me before with exceptional results, and i find my natural hair grows faster when braided. my question is, can one swim or even wet the cornrows when put in? and if not, how to keep them from smelling "gamey" after a while... you all have been tremendous help before and i thank you in advance.....anna
Yes you can get them wet. After washing your hair with them in or getting them wet use a light hair wax (sounds bad but it isn't) on them to keep the little freys or strays from becomming a fly away annoiance. They make a lot of products that are for your hair when in braids like that. Try a beauty supply shop (the stores that acctually sell to salons) in your area and ask them what they suggest. They normally are not expensive and are a great help with a wide variety of expertise and items.
Yes you can wet cornrows and if you don't want them to smell quote unquote gamey, don't leave them up for a long period of time.
of course, you can get any style of braids wet, but it's really hard to keep it looking decent after it gets wet. You should try using oil to put in your parts to keep it from smelling and keeping it from itching constantly.

I have a friend who has her hair straightened and it looks nice all the time. Am not sure how many times she goes to the hair dresser, but I dont think it is that often. She wears pulled back alot of the time and it looks good. Depending on your face, sometimes wearing it short is also stylish. But not everyone can wear short hair. You have a lot of options and you dont need anything fake. Go to an experienced stylist and am sure you will be happy with their suggestions.

Hair extension can be great for your hair, they give your actual hair a rest and time to grow. It can be a bad experience if you don't have a clean scalp to begin with and don't take care of your scalp while they are in. It can also be bad if the stylist braids your hair too tightly.
Simply take care of your scalp before and during the time you are wearing the extensions and you will be fine.
they are not damaging but they can be very painful because they are swen in and can cut off some of the blood suppy to that part of your head. I would get the kind you glue in.
depends on the sensativity of your scalp...dont let the stylist braid to tight of use synthetic hair that feels like plastic....that will break your natural hair off............make sure the stylist has experience in different techniques of braiding.......if not!....run out that chair!

Yes, it is damaging to your hair and the hairdresser will have you sign a piece of paper, releasing him/her from any damage. Don't have her use any glue or heat either, because this is very damaging as well. There is a technique out there, which they use little small cylinders and attache the fake hair to your natural hair and there is no heat or glue involved. It is more expensive, but not damaging to your hair. I believe it is called hair locks.

Everday, I was combing out like little clumps of hair, sooo gross. so i was blonde for a year and then i decided to get extensions that were brown.. so i dyed my hair to match the extensions. now i've taken the extensions out and i really don't want to damage my hair any more by dying it. my hair doesn't hold dark colors very well so it's already faded alot.

yeah it will go back to blonde. bleaching to blonde takes all the color pigment out of your hair so when the color fades it will go back to blonde.
It'll fade out to blonde. Your natural color no longer exists.

just keep growing your hair out and make sure to trim it about every 2 months for healthy looking hair. it will take at least few months but just be patient. i also heard that putting your hair up will make it grow faster but im not too sure about this one.
they dont cut it and they keep it healthy. Your hair grows about 6 inches a year (1/2 each month) but thats only if you keep it healthy. meaning no perms, relaxers, straightening tools etc.

um to answer your question, yes do not get extensions, just wait a year and it will be really long (at least for me it did)
my hair goes all the way down my back, and the only thing i did was just let it grow naturally. And then every few months cut the split ends off. I never cut alot off, just alittle. My mom says if you just cut off split ends it keeps your hair healthy and it grows better.
It just takes time. You'll get there, just take care of your hair and do as little damage to it as possible. If you are not already taking vitamins you might want to try that.
First of all, you have to understand that not everyone can grow really long hair. The reason is genetic: you hair follicle contains genetic info and will only grow to a certain length. Once it reaches its maximum growth, it will stay dormant and finally fall off. Your best bet would be to take care of your hair (use moisturising creams and avoid hot tools basically) and trimming it a couple centimeters every 3-4 months. And now is the best time to grow your hair: hair grows faster in winter. Protect it from the elements when you go out too (cold dry air and wind ain't good!). Good luck! :)

It sounds crazy, but just don't cut it. Lots of other things help too. Never blow dry or use any heat on your hair, wash your hair less frequenty. Take great care not to break your hair when combing and detangling. Waist length hair has to last 4 or 5 years, so start taking care of it NOW. Although genetics plays a part, almost everyone who is healthy can grow mid back length hair. Most can grow it much longer.

My hairdresser used nail glue to help extensions stay in, and put in my hair along with the extensions. I have tried deep conditioning it with 'Motions' conditioner as well as Hot Oil separately and have had no luck.

First of all, never go to that person again!! Nail glue does not belong in hair. Secondly, you just have to keep washing your hair and wait for it to come out. It won't stay in forever but yes definitely don't put nail polish remover in your hair. Your hair dresser is an idiot!

I though they looked better not matching than my previous matching ones, sort of two tone.

If you would like get extensions, or cut the length of your hair shorter and get your hair layered in sections so it looks as though its done on purpose. I section my friends hair so its longer in some parts and shorter in others and its way cute.
I don't know how to fix it, but if i was you, i would probably never go to that stylist, and tell them that that can eat the hairs, and that you suck badly.

your only option is to fill in the gaps with extensions. i would get the metal clip kind - not the woven (as they'll annoy the crap out of you) and not glued cos they'll ruin your hair
so i was blonde for a year and then i decided to get extensions that were brown.. so i dyed my hair to match the extensions. now i've taken the extensions out and i really don't want to damage my hair any more by dying it. my hair doesn't hold dark colors very well so it's already faded alot.
so here's my question if the brown color is fading out of my hair will it go to my natural hair color when it's all faded out or will it go back to the blonde?

yeah it will go back to blonde. bleaching to blonde takes all the color pigment out of your hair so when the color fades it will go back to blonde.
It'll fade out to blonde. Your natural color no longer exists.

if taken out using an oil-based product or a moisturizing product you will not lose your hair. first spray on oil sheen or use a hot 6 oil. Work it through the tracks, then proceed to shampoo it with a moisturizing shampoo. The tracks will detach easily after being worked through with the combo of the oil and sudsy shampoo. PLEASE DO NOT YANK THE TRACK! THIS WILL CAUSE HAIR LOSS! another thing is if you decide to keep tracks in your hair on a frequent basis, make SURE the track is not laid on the same spot repeatedly. This will cause "track alopecia" and the hair will not grow back and if it does it will be peach fuzz hair. Now don't get me wrong, I am Not saying don't put tracks in, but like anything we do---do it in moderation. You can put them in, but take them out to let your scalp breathe and your hair to take a break also! Another alternative is having your hair sewn in. This reduces stress on the hair because all of it is braided up!

Well your hair only falls out if you don't take it out the right way. as in get someone else to do it for you like at a salon or somthing. I haven't had extensions but it only seems that this is right. hope that helped.

It's a possibility. The best way to keep your hair from getting damaged is to make sure the glue doesnt mix into your hair, and also to use an oil sheen spray to loosen the tracks before taking them out.

it is possible. my hair actually looks kinda like that when i use my curling iron. i have really long hair, by the way.
In order to get more defined curls like that to stay in longer, rollers are probably a little better than a curling iron.. You can choose a larger size roller in order to get the big curls like that, and you can find them at walgreens, kmart, etc. Just put them in when your hair is wet, let it dry, and voila! Lol.. Hair extension can be great for your hair, they give your actual hair a rest and time to grow. It can be a bad experience if you don't have a clean scalp to begin with and don't take care of your scalp while they are in. It can also be bad if the stylist braids your hair too tightly.
Simply take care of your scalp before and during the time you are wearing the extensions and you will be fine.
they are not damaging but they can be very painful because they are swen in and can cut off some of the blood suppy to that part of your head. I would get the kind you glue in.

on top of that, you can put them in yourself, and there's no monthly maintenance OR having to go to a professional to take the extensions out.

The glue wont ruin your hair. The Glue washes out eventually. But sewing them in does because in order to sew them in you have to braid your hair in little braids which causes breakage. I have always used glue in track extensions, much more easier to maintain and less painful.

um.. i have heard that the sewn in ones do kinda hurt and give you split ends.. but i have glued in some before. they get frizzy after a few weeks and you have to get new ones. But i know for sure that they DON'T give you split ends.. just make sure you buy the glue remover. and i know that they are $30 in sally's beauty supply.. gl!
i worked w/ a girl that put in weaves but she had no weaves herself because they hurt her head..why don't you try getting a cornrow in horizontal at the back of your head and sleep on it..good luck

It can be beneficial for your hair as long as you take care of it such as washing it and conditioning it too. Trust me, my mom's hair grew over 2 inches of new growth when she had sew-in hair, and I would recommend it because it lets your natural hair rest and grow too.
Sew-ins are not healthy because you would still need to wash and condition. They are good though in helping your hair to grow. If you do get one make sure you do a shampoo,hot oil treatment followed by a good leave-in conditioner. Most salons do this any way. Good-luck!!
I agree sew-in's can be damamging to the hair, especially to the edges, definately make sure you get it done by a professional. Also if you plan on wearing a weave for awhile, longer than a few weeks, definately get human hair because synthetic will dry your hair out.
I would suggest that if you just get the back done and leaving the front alone when you get it sewn in, the edges of your hairline wont be damaged that much than if you got your whole head in braids to get the extensions

There's nothing to put ON your hair to make it grown quicker, it has to come form with-in. (believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING).

You don't need a prescription for prenatal vitamins. You should be able to get them over the counter at any drugstore. But if you don't want to take prenatals next best thing is to take Folic Acid pills which you can also buy over the counter at a drugstore and take 800 mg a day which is the average amount of folic acid in prenatals.

I hate to dissapoint you but take it from a hairdresser there is no way you will have 6 inches by Christmas. The most you will likely have by then is about 3 and that is if you take good care of your hair. Use salon grade products. Prenatal vitimins are sold at Wal-mart and drug-stores and don't require a Rx. However, they make hair skin and nail vitimins that work just as well. Keep your diet clean. Drink lots of water. Everything you eat and drink becomes part of your hair. Protect your hair from heat by appling thermal protecting products before you blowdry and never go swimming without wetting your hair and applying conditioner first. If you take proper care of your hair you will eventually get it to the length you want.

if u'r hair is dark and u want it to go platinum blonde all of a sudden, then you should do it gradually, like bleach it again the next day, and choose a good brand too. Best thing to do is do it in a salon do guarantee the quality.
perm the hair, tease the roots, use volume shampoo and serum. but remember all the women in the pictures have extensions. so if your hair is really thin then you're talking impossibility.

just because they are human hair, doesn't mean they will take a color. human hair used for extensions and wigs has been heavily chemically treated already, and may not take any color. i would cut a VERY small section from an unnoticeable spot and strand test it first. i would also only use a semi-permanent color, as you shouldn't be shampooing these extensions all the time anyway. go to sally beauty supply and buy a semi-permanent brown in the color you want and simply follow the directions. make sure you fully saturate the hair. rinse it out and use a mild shampoo when the processing time is complete. check the tested strand for evenness and correct color. if it looks good, do the same thing to the rest of the hair you wish to color. if it doesn't take, don't color the rest of the extensions.

BUY THE DYE PUT A CAP ON PICK HAIRS THAT U WANT 2 DYE OUT AND PUT THE CEMACUL ON IT AND RINSE IT OUT
just place them on a piece of old cloth on ur table ...use rubber gloves and put the haircolor on the hair..then use a comb to ensure u evenly distribute the color thro the hair.
leave it there for 20 mins.. then rinse out... towel dry and then blow dry if u choose!
If it is human hair you find out what clr is the brown( light,medium or dark brown). The best thing is to use semi permanent and either use the exact same match and watch it(rub the clr off every 5-10minutes and reapply if it doesn't match) or go 1 shade lighter and leave on blonde part for 20 -25minutes. I suggest using a neutral or warm(reddish) brown. If the clr comes out close to any brown it is ok because most natural browns have different shades in it.
i did this i dyed my light brown ettentions black after i had enoth with brown so it matched my new dark hair just dye them normaly, but after dying them put lots of contitioner on them so they dnt get dry x

you take the brown hair dye, the extesions, a hair dying brush you can buy at sally's beauty supply foil and gloves...put on gloves mix color in a bowl lay the brown side down blonde facing upwards on the foil...now take the dye brush put it into the dye and the brush it on to the extensions wait the allotted 25-45 min rinse, wash and condition the hair extensions.

Keep your split ends trimmed. Your hair grows 1/2" per month if your split ends are kept up.

If you have thin or damaged hair dont use extensions - they will f*ck up your hair. If you have good hair then you can use them but not all the time. The only thing that actually makes your hair grow faster is being in the sun - but thats not good for your skin so...
Ok. This is going to sound really weird but it works. A while back I wanted to make my hair longer FAST and I was debating extensions. But then a lady at my dad's office told me that eating J-ELLO makes your hair grow faster. She said that when she was younger she and her sisters used to use this trick all the time. Now the thing is that you have to eat a LOT of J-ELLO. Around one packet a day. It made my hair grow twice as fast so it may work for you! Apparently it's the gelatin in the J-ELLO that makes hair grow fast.
By cutting it, believe it or not! My wife is an award winning Hairdresser and she maintains that if you trim dead ends regularly and keep your hair healthy, it grows quicker!

There is no natural way to make your hair grow faster, sorry. What will slow down growth thow is if you brush your hair when it's wet with a regular brush. Hair extensions are not bad for your hair, but they kinda fall out easily if you get cheap ones or don't take care of them.
Cut your hair more often (I know it sound weird), and ingest more protein.
I had a friend tell me that if u brush your hair about 100 strokes or more, then it would get all the dead hair out and help it grow which it does i've tried it, it helps. I frequently hear of people taking pre natal pills to make their hair grow faster, even men. The reason that an expecting mother's hair may grow slower or faster has to do with hormonal activity and not the pills. So please, stop doing that

go to walmart in the dietary supplement isle . Get prenatal pills and then there are also pills just for hair and nails . If you have problems ask the pharmacist they will help . I think the prenatal would work faster if you have a really good diet and eat right . Also go to Reggis Hair salon. and buy there olive oil shampoo and condition line . That will help and make your hair very shiney and healthy .
If you don't have a Reggis salon . put in 1/4 cup olive oil in your hair make sure it is wet . wrap in towel . Go to bed and the next morning wash it out extremely good .
Also you should strip your hair once every 3 months to get the bad oils out . Do this by mixing baking soda in your shampoo and then scrub real good and rinse . Then use a really good conditioner . Do the olive oil treatment once a week . If you want you could get away doing it once a month if your hair is already pretty silky . Also I was just reading the other answers . Jello will help so if you want to add that to your diet as well as all this stuff you should be able to tell a difference in 3-6 months .

I had heavy, glued in extensions put in a little over a year ago and the entire experience was a nightmare. I was left with about 1/2 the amount of hair I originally had before installation. As it has been a year, I cut my hair to my shoulders and it looks much thicker than before. However, the parts of hair that broke off were mostly underneath, closer to the back of my neck and the base of my scalp. I have already seen a dermatologist and was told that the shorter hair will have to grow back %26amp; it should take about a year for it to feel normal again (I was told this over the summer.) i am a part time hair stylist and i also braid hair so i know you can braid your hair in cornrows using extentions. that is if you have the right person doing it. so there you go.
If it is very very short, then you cannot but if it is a length that you can braid a small plait then you can get cornrows using hair piece but I can tell you that it is gonna hurt some.

Some people will tell you they don't but they do. Believe me! I almost loose all of my hair. There are also clip on extensions you can find this at sally's. you put them on and take them off as many time as you want without any glue or pain.

yes and no. Depends on the type that you get. If you get the ones that are glues in your hair its tends to pull out your hair. Usually the way to go is when they braid it. You have to learn how to maintain them so that they will last a couple months at a time. Either way hair is gonna come out.

they're temporary (you can put them in for a few hours, then take them out) and they stay in place throughout the day.
they don't ruin your hair, and if you don't like them, you can just take them out.

on top of that, you can put them in yourself, and there's no monthly maintenance OR having to go to a professional to take the extensions out.
If you glue them in, yes, but if they're sewn it, they won't, depending on how long you leave them in.
The glue wont ruin your hair. The Glue washes out eventually. But sewing them in does because in order to sew them in you have to braid your hair in little braids which causes breakage. I have always used glue in track extensions, much more easier to maintain and less painful.

You can also go online at Sally's beauty supply and buy human hair extensions, and the clips seperatley. I did it that way, and it only cost $20. I got 1 back of extensions ($8) and 4 sets of clippies ($3) that have 4 clippies each. Then all you have to do is cut the pieces you want to use, and sew the hair to the clip. You don't even have to be a good sewer (I'm not!). You could also lightly glue the hair on the clippies, too.

There's nothing to put ON your hair to make it grown quicker, it has to come form with-in. (believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING).
What I've tried (%26amp; am currently still using) %26amp; DOES work is a vitamin I got from GNC. It's called Ultra Nourish Hair. I do admit, it has a weird taste at first, but, I quickly got used to it/learned to deal with if after keep telling myself how much I want long %26amp; healthy hair :)

You don't need a prescription for prenatal vitamins. You should be able to get them over the counter at any drugstore. But if you don't want to take prenatals next best thing is to take Folic Acid pills which you can also buy over the counter at a drugstore and take 800 mg a day which is the average amount of folic acid in prenatals.

I hate to dissapoint you but take it from a hairdresser there is no way you will have 6 inches by Christmas. The most you will likely have by then is about 3 and that is if you take good care of your hair. Use salon grade products. Prenatal vitimins are sold at Wal-mart and drug-stores and don't require a Rx. However, they make hair skin and nail vitimins that work just as well. Keep your diet clean. Drink lots of water. Everything you eat and drink becomes part of your hair. Protect your hair from heat by appling thermal protecting products before you blowdry and never go swimming without wetting your hair and applying conditioner first. If you take proper care of your hair you will eventually get it to the length you want.
