I had it glued in before and still looked good but because I ama swimmer it wasn't long before the glue losened and as wellas the tracks so I want it sewn in this time but how long will it last before new growth is shown? Is it a good idea to have the extensions layered or no? I am mixed and I do have blue eyes--do you think me looking black and having blues eyes is a good idea to wear jet black hair or medium brown?? Thanks!! :D

You can still get extensions sewn in with long hair. Just make sure they sew the tracks on to small cornrows within your hair and don't braid your entire head and then track it. If you have a lot of hair, braiding your whole head will give you that "big hair" look. However you need to pick a hair texture as close to your natural texture as possible so that the extensions and your hair blend well.
How long it will last will depend on how fast your hair grows. If you get a color close to your natural shade it will obviously look better and more natural longer then if you got platinum tracks sewn into dark nappy hair. If your hair is permed then your weave will last about the same amount of time as your perm. My hair is sewn (its mine cause I paid for it) and it lasts for about two months before my natural hair get too nappy to blend well with my tracks.
I think dark hair with blue eyes are very attractive and so do many other black girls or they wouldn't spend so much on blue colored contacts. Provided your natural color isn't red I think you would probably look good in almost any hair color. Just remember if you choose a color that's a lot darker then your natural shade your extensions won't look good as long because you can get away with darker roots a lot longer then you can get away with lighter ones.

getting them sewn in is a lot healther for your hair than getting them glued in. the Glue rips out your hair when it comes out. Getting them swen in will last a month or two. I would go with a brown because of your blue eyes.

I think most black girls would kill you since they have problems growing hair past their sholders. Could you show us a pic of what you have now? I mean, why mess with a good thing?

itll take a month to show (depending onhow you take care of it) since you plan to swim in it it will show faster depending on your weave. it is nice to layer them. black ahould be pretty black is pretty on everyone. put but putting in tracks you have to braid your hair but i dont know how your hair do. Most black ppl have to wash their hair after getting in cholrine because that will eat your hair and take it out. so during swimming season i wouldnt recommend weave

don't bother getting a weave since you will be swimming the chlorine will destroy the weave ...later on you can get medium brown weave put in that will look nice....sewn in is better than the glue...just don't get the extensions too heavy or you could suffer from alopecia from extensions

My hair is past my shoulders (well, when stretched, since I'm natural) and I've gotten weaves sewn in. It looks fine and what I like is that I can change it up and get a shorter do than my normal hair. I just recently had mine done like Rihanna's bob and it was CUTE and good for change! Anyway, layered could be cute as that is in right now. As far as swimming, I would say the sewn in method would work better. I don't like weaves very much, so I take mine out in like a month. I think you can experiment with colors and both brown and black would look good. You can even go with some streaks here and there.
